About us

Growing up in inner-city Birmingham, I remember looking out at the city skyline, seeing the BT Tower and the famous circles of the Bullring. I couldn't wait to be old enough to explore the city for myself and eventually discover what lay beyond it.

Growing up in the inner city also meant experiencing some of the challenges that can come with it — crime, exploitation and vulnerability. Seeing the impact these experiences could have on children, young people and families made me realise that I wanted to support those who were most vulnerable. What started as something I cared about became my vocation.

For over 15 years, I have proudly worked with children, young people and families across the West Midlands. My experience includes working in nurseries and children's centres, schools, higher education, local authority education and children's services, as well as child protection social work, training and quality assurance.

Throughout my career, I've seen how much difference confident, knowledgeable and committed professionals can make. I've also seen how challenging safeguarding can be for organisations and the people working within them.

That is what led me to create Enhance Safeguarding Practice - Training and Consultany Ltd. Bringing together my experience to provide training, consultancy and quality assurance that is practical, personal and grounded in real practice.

I believe safeguarding is about more than policies and procedures. It's about people, relationships, professional curiosity, reflection and the decisions we make every day.

My approach is child-centred, relationship-based and practice-focused. I want organisations to feel supported rather than judged, while helping the people within them feel confident and equipped to safeguard the children and young people they support.
